2. Safety Instructions

4. Assembly
Assembling your Rowenta X-Clean 4 is quick and straightforward:
- Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Insert the handle into the main body of the appliance until it clicks securely into place.
- Ensure the clean water tank and dirty water tank are correctly seated in their respective compartments.
- Place the appliance on its charging and self-cleaning base.
5. Setup
5.1. Charging the Battery
Before first use, fully charge the appliance. Connect the charging adapter to the charging base and plug it into a wall outlet. Place the X-Clean 4 on the charging base. The battery indicator on the display will show the charging status. A full charge provides up to 50 minutes of cleaning autonomy.

5.2. Filling the Clean Water Tank
Locate the clean water tank (usually the upper tank). Remove it from the appliance and open the cap. Fill the tank with clean tap water up to the MAX fill line. You may add a small amount of non-foaming floor cleaning solution if desired, specifically designed for floor washers. Close the cap securely and reinsert the tank into the appliance.

6.1. Powering On and Selecting Mode
Press the power button on the handle to turn on the X-Clean 4. The intelligent display will illuminate. The appliance typically starts in 'Auto' mode, which automatically adjusts the roller rotation speed and water flow based on dirt detection. An 'Eco' mode may also be available for lighter cleaning and extended battery life.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Rowenta X-Clean 4.
7.1. Automatic Self-Cleaning Cycle
After each use, place the appliance back on its charging base. Press the dedicated self-cleaning button (refer to your appliance's handle for exact button location). The X-Clean 4 will perform an automatic cleaning cycle of the roller brush and internal components, flushing out dirty water and debris. This helps prevent odors and maintains hygiene.

The dirty water tank (lower tank) should be emptied after each cleaning session or when the appliance indicates it is full. Remove the tank, open its lid, and dispose of the dirty water. Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water and allow it to air dry before reinserting it.
7.3. Roller Brush and Filter Care
Even with the self-cleaning function, it is recommended to periodically remove the roller brush and rinse it under running water. Allow the roller to air dry completely (ideally for 24-48 hours) before reattaching it. The filters should also be removed and rinsed regularly.
